With the expansion of Internet sales it is increasingly common to find people with great e-commerce ideas convinced that they are the new Amazon. However, when you do a little deeper study of your online business idea, in most cases you discover with great regret that your idea is not viable. For all those who are considering starting a new e-commerce business I will give some keys so that in a short time we will detect if our idea can lead to a viable and profitable online store:
- Products of a very high price to date are not sold online. You can search for a lead and then make an offline sale, but they will not be bought directly. For example, a house, a boat, an airplane. People do not have credit on their cards to pay for it, nor will they risk making a millionaire transfer without having seen and touched the product.
- Do you look for what I want to sell? Tools like Google Trends or Google Adwords search estimates can give us information on whether people are claiming my product on the Internet.
- At what price can I sell it? Do not forget that the main reason to buy on the Internet is price. Therefore, I must see how much my competition has for the product I want to sell. If I can offer it at similar prices or below I’m on the right track.
- How much will it cost me to promote it? In electronic commerce it is essential that people arrive at your page. The fastest way to get it are usually search engine campaigns (mainly Google Adwords). We offer a free study to our clients indicating how much it could cost them to place an order with a Google Adwords campaign. An online store with no advertising behind it has little chance of making any sales.
